Ombuds Program
SB 158 Chapter 73 established an Ombuds Program in the Board of Environmental Safety to receive concerns and suggestions from the public, to evaluate inquiries received, to report findings and make recommendations to the Board of Environmental Safety, and to render assistance to the public.

Information and guidance
The Ombuds Program can provide information about regulations, procedures, and your rights related to environmental safety matters.
Handling Concerns
If you have a concern about work that the DTSC is currently doing, or have information about issues that you feel should be focused on, the Ombuds Program can review the situation and help ensure that it is addressed appropriately.
Advocacy
The Ombudsperson can advocate on your behalf so that your concerns are heard and addressed.
Fair Process
The Ombudsperson ensures that fair procedures are followed and that decisions are made transparently and justly.
