Stages in the Permit Appeals Process

There are several phases which are part of the permit appeals process:

Operating Permits and Class 2 and Class 3 Permit Modifications

Phase 1: Petition for Review Filed

Phase 2: Petition for Review Granted or Denied

Phase 3: Briefing Period

Phase 4: Public Hearing Period

Phase 5: Permit Appeal Decision Completed

Temporary Authorizations

Facilities with Pending Appeals

Phibro-Tech Inc., Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (No. 2024/25-HWM-05), Santa Fe Springs, California 90670

On February 28, 2025, DTSC issued a final permit decision to renew the permit for the Phibro-Tech Facility. On March 26, 2025, Earthjustice filed an appeal on behalf of Neighbors Against Phibro Tech, and on March 27, 2025, the SSL Law Firm filed an appeal on behalf of Phibro-Tech Inc.
